1. RIP Deriek Crouse. People have shown great support for the police officer, Deriek Crouse, 39 who was shot by a nearby university pupil at a traffic light last week. The gunman killed himself and was found dead in a nearby parking lot. The victim, Deriek Crouse, has left his wife and five children behind. Many people have turned to social media to express their support for him and his family. Condolences have been sent in the form of tweets, Facebook comments and pictures.
Meanwhile, organizers of the "Hokies for Crouse," have gained a lot of support through social media. In just days the site has gained more than 40,000 followers, raising more than $70,000 for the memorial fund in Crouse's honor.
