Wikipedia is the #5 site on the web and serves 454 million different people every month – with billions of page views. Jimmy Wales, the founder of Wikipedia, has called Wikipedia a temple for mind. Its a place we all can go to think, learn and share our knowledge with the world. Wikipedia has provided free knowledge to online users without any advertisements. Every up-to-date knowledge is freely available and it has set a unique example of global collaboration.
The Wikimedia Foundation is the non-profit organization that operates Wikipedia and several free knowledge projects: Wikipedia, Wiktionary, Wikiquote, Wikibooks, Wikisource, Wikispecies, Wikinews, Wikiversity, Wikimedia Commons, and MediaWiki. The Wikimedia Foundation, the non-profit behind Wikipedia, has launched its annual fundraising campaign. The annual fundraiser brings in critical revenue so that Wikipedia and its sister projects can remain freely available to people around the world. Your donation will used for technology like servers, bandwidth, maintenance and development. Wikipedia is run with just 100 employees!
If you stand by Wikipedia's mission you can help the fundraising campaign. You can donate, show your support and spread the word via Facebook.
