  • Many people do not like to mention their whereabouts online. One should check before using the 'check-in' app on Facebook.
  • The g+ hangouts have popularized after the US president Barack Obama organised it as a part of his election campaign.  From a privacy perspective, just be aware that anyone you invite to a hangout can invite anyone else. Also, there is no way to kick a person off a hangout (so you're stuck with them for better or for worse).
